About SESUG
Volunteering at SESUG 2009

SESUG is an all-volunteer organization.  While we receive event support from SAS, all academic sessions, the registration desk, and events like the Silent Auction are staffed by volunteers like you!

Session Coordinators help run the academic sections, helping with administrative tasks like timekeeping and attendance-tracking.  It’s a great way to help out while attending sessions.

Registration/Information Desk Coordinators help the registrars and conference attendees before and during the conference.  This area is centrally located and you can help with setting up registration, or handing out conference materials and answering questions other attendees may have.  Registration Coordinators normally work a 2 hour block of time.

Operations Volunteers help in a variety of ways.  SESUG 2009 will have activities in addition to the Silent Auction that will need volunteers.

Do you have any questions?  Are you ready to volunteer?  When you register for the conference, you will have an opportunity to let us know how you are willing to help.  If you have questions, contact our Volunteer Coordinators, Carolyn Williams and Denise Kruse.

Do I receive a reduced registration fee if I volunteer?
No.  SESUG is an all volunteer organization.  We are very appreciative of any help we receive from a volunteer, but do not give volunteers a reduced registration fee.

When will I know when I am scheduled to volunteer?
Scheduling of volunteers will be done approximately 2-4 weeks before the conference so that we can work with your time availability.

See the Session Coordinator duties document.

What are my duties as a Registration Volunteer?
See the Registration Desk duties document.

How will I be contacted by the Volunteer Coordinators once I have indicated my willingness to help?
The volunteer coordinators use the email address you provide when you register to contact you. If you sign up to volunteer, please check your SPAM folder in the month proceeding the conference for email messages from us. We try to use subject lines containing the words “SESUG 2009” so that you know it is related to the conference.
