We have some additional information that we thought would be useful
for you as you prepare your paper for final submission. But first, here
are a few deadlines you need to be aware of.
- July 27 – August 6, 1999
– you should start to receive
your registration booklets in the mail. If you don’t please contact
SAS Insitute’s User Group Support by e-mail at sugweb@sas.com
or via phone at (919) 677-8000 x3474.
August 6, 1999 – Your final papers are due. See instructions
below for who you need to send them to and the format.
August 16, 1999 - I need to confirm that you have registered
for SESUG!! Visit www.sesug.org
after August 1, 1999 for on-line registration or refer to your
registration booklet.
Before September 10, 1999 – We need to confirm your
equipment needs for your presentation.
October 31, 1999 - You are required to attend a paper
presenter meeting in the Adams Mark Riverview Hotel. At this
meeting, you will meet your section chair and session
coordinator, receive final instructions for your presentation. Note a
laptop will NOT be provided for your presentation. We will
provide detailed information about when and where this meeting will
take place.
October 31- November 3, 1999 - SESUG ‘99 - Mobile, AL!
This document contains valuable information on preparing your SESUG
presentation and requirements for preparing your paper for the hardcopy
and the CD-ROM of the conference Proceedings. Please take special
notice of the dates and deadlines listed below.

1. A signed Permission to Publish Grant.

You are required to sign a Permission to Publish form, and it must be
received by SESUG before your paper can be included in the
Proceedings. Signing this agreement grants a nonexclusive right to
SESUG to publish your paper in the SESUG 99 Proceedings and to
reproduce your paper in on the CD-ROM and/ or the SESUG web site.
2. Two camera-ready copies of your final paper. Refer to the
SESUG Paper Guidelines for format specifications for your paper.
You can use the Paper Template available on the Web at www.sas.com/usergroups/sugi/ sugi24/intro.html.
The margins, headers, fonts, and point sizes have been preset for
you.
The specifications can be found on SAS Institute’s web site, but
here are some general guidelines:

1 First page only: center title about 3/4" from top with
author’s name below. Start paper 1/2" down from author
line.
2 Left margin: 3/4"
3 Right margin: 3/4"
4 Middle margin: 1/2"
5 Top margin: 3/4"
6 Bottom margin: 3/4"
7 Column width: 3 1/4"

3. The application file and a PostScript file of your paper via
diskette or anonymous FTP. You are required to submit a
3½" diskette containing the application file (Microsoft Word or
WordPerfect document) and a PostScript file of your paper for use in
creating the Proceedings CD-ROM. Or if you prefer, you can provide
your PostScript file through anonymous FTP. See these instructions
for specific details.
